PARAMOUNT THEATRE.
The new programme at the Paramount Theatre includes the five-act comedy drama by William Fox, entitled "A b!range Bomance," in which pretty June 'Caprice has the leading role. The ParaJia Company decided for its first great play to take the well-known story, "Kose of Paradise, ,, and Bessie Barriscale was seated as leading lady. She scores a triumph in the role of the little country girl .win :s all the time an heiress, and manage to save_ a wrongfully accused man in the nick of time. The cruel-plot which is plauned by her guardian is frustrated at length, and all ends happil.y The play is full of quaint and fascinating touches, and Bessie Barriseale is bonny, convincing and wholesomely pretty throughout. The highest praise must be given to the perfect photography of this production. . The hill and forest scenes are wonderful. The real strength of the story lies, however, in the simple beauty and sterling appeal of the little heroine's belief in the goodness of mankind. She wanders through a grim world and brings to its troubles a bubbling spirit of cheeriness. The rest of the cast are good, Norman Kerry as the .handsome hero carrying off the honours. This programme will be repeated to-night.
