THE HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT.

It its to be hoped that, as the result of the visit to Masterton yesterday of the Minister for Education, finality will soon be reached in regard to the* establishment of a high school in Masterton. Of course, those who oppose the high school movement are busily engaged in drawing red herrings across the scent. These "do nothing" people, who dearly love to bask in the limelight, but who really belong to "the day that has gone,' , are obviously attempting to block the high school project suggesting some site other than that known

as the "fishponds site, , ,' and favoured by the public of Masterton. As, however, these individuals are "back numbers," and are not taken seriously by the community, their efforts will result in failure. The Minister for Education has promised that Masterton shall have a high school separate from the technical school, and this is a matter for satisfaction. It is substantial progress along the road to the high school. The sites question has been settled by the public meeting in Masterton, and only the reactionaries favour any other site than that adjacent to the fishponds.
