It is believed that Mrs Alma Steane, tho society beauty who committed suicide in her ilat after the Victory Ball, was the offspring of the ex-Crown Prince Rudolph and Marie Kercera, who both committed suicide in 1899. Tho Empress Elizabeth took charge of the orphan, who, on the assassination of the Empress, was taken to America, the Emperor Francis Josef providing her with a fortune.
