AMERICA'S ATTITUDE.

The cables have been flooded recently with neAvs t'oncerning America's attitude over the Peace Treaty. Some people profess to be A*ery concerned as to whether America signs the Treaty or not. As far as the Allies are concerned it really does not matter whether America rejects the Treaty or signs it. Of course, the opposition to the Treaty in America is coming from the Eepublicans. This pro-German party hates the British race and everything British. Their one mission in life is to fight the British. It was the Republicans that kepfej America out of the Avar so long. They placed President Wilson in such an awkward position that he was for a long while unable to throw in his lot with the Allies. The party that is opposing the signing of the Treaty by America is the same party that, backed tho pro-German candidate in the presidential election and fought tooth and nail to keep America out of the Avar. This party —the mouthpiece of the trusts of America—is now determined if possible to upset the terms of the Peace Treaty—in the interests of the Germans, of course. Britain, France and Italy can afford to ignore the United States. The war could been Avon without the help of the United States; the peace of the world can be established and maintained without the assistance of tho "idiotic Yankees."
