THE PEACE TREATY.

It is very apparent from the cable news received during the past t'i'W' 'lays that the Peace Treaty is to be altered in the Huns-' favour, it is stated that several revisions of the Peace Treatywill be sanctioned by the "Big Four." If the "Big Four" make any alteration in U>e Peace Treaty, except to impose harder terms upon Germany, then the Allied cause will have been betrayed. The Huns have escaped too lightly as it is. If the Treaty is modified iv any way, then it will be to the dishonour of Britain if she stands by without registering a, determined and effective protest. Tho suspicion is arising in many people's minds that more sympathy than is at all necessary is being displayed by certain of the Allies- delegates to the Prussian Junkers and military class. Britain entered the war to remove the menace these classes were to tho freedom of the world. Is she going now to sanction any concessions to them. If Britain retreats one step from the present peace terms she will bring a- hornets' nest about her ears from the Dominions, and no camouflage by the press gang that runs the cables will explain away Britain's weakening and betrayal of the Dominions. The situation at the present time is a critical one for the Mother Country.
