GISBORNE SILVER BAND.
TO VISIT MASTERTON,
The Gisborne Salvaiion Army Band —a talented combination consisting of ;n performers under the able condueiorship of Bandmaster Stein —is to visit Masterton next Thursday and Friday, on its way to the Army Congress in Wellington. Tbe bandmaster is a conductor of Scottish extraction and of wide repute, his name appearing on Besson's list of leading artists in band circles in the Old Country.
lief erring to the efficiency of the band, a frequent visitor to (lisborne stated a few days ago that its playing was never better, and the public of Masterton can expect a treat in instrumental music. They are to give a varied programme in the Opera House on the Friday night, when the profits of the concert are to go to the instrument fund of the local Army band, which requires two or three instruments urgently. Any Army friends who are prepare"d to billet ono or more of the bandsmen for the two nights should communicate- with the local officer, Ensign Sawyer, or any desirous of helping this fund should do likewise.
