CORONER'S REMARKS.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday.

Tho adjourned inquest was resumed this morning on Thomas Keighley, who died from injuries sustained through being knocked down on April 21st by a motor car driven by M. Edwards.

The coroner returned a verdict that death was due to injuries from being run over by a motor car,-but there was no evidence of negligent driving. He 'added a rider that now that fast-trac-tion had been sanctioned over tho highways, there was cast on those using the roads a higher standard of care thanpreviously existed. Pedestrians should keep to tho footpaths as much as posible, and should keep looking out for possible danger. The rider was added not to induce carelessness or recklessness on the part of motorists, but to induce all to exercise care.
