DISPUTE OVER WAGES.

CASE BEFORE MAGISTRATE

In the Magistrate's Court at Masterton yesterday, William Cruiekshank, builder, proceeded against Bartholomew J. Kelliher for £71 17s 6d, balance of amount alleged to bo due to plaintiff as wages (at the rate of 2s 6d per hour) during a period he was erecting a building for Kelliher, and tor certain articles supplied.

After hearing the'evidence judgment was given for Cruiekshank for £45 14s 6d of the amount claimed.

On a counter-claim, Kelliher obtained judgment for £15 9s 6d. This was practically the amount claimed, less £10 for a horse and trap purchased at a sale for carting material for the house, and. which Keliher held should be paid for by Cruiekshank.

Costs amounting to £2 6s wore allowed against Kelliher.
