SENSATIONAL ESCAPE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) INYBKCARGILL, Thursday. Arthur Leo Beor Ashton, a prisoner on tho "way to the Borstal Institution at Tnverearjiill, made a sensational escape* from the express. Ashton. who was sentenced for theft at Dunedin to two years' reformative treatment, took advantage of the reduced speed (if the train at Edendale cutting and made a. dash through a carria.ee to the platform and from there leaped to the ground. Constable Vadge leapt from the train in pursuit, but Ashton gained the dense hush adjacent to the line and escaped towards the Hokonui ranges.
