A poll on the. proposal to change the fcalf-holiday from Thursday to Saturday evoked great interest. Employers and most of tho older employees arc- opposing the change in the interests of country customers, for whom Saturday is the Market day. The result;; are likely to bo very- late.
At PaJmerston North yesterday a vote on tho half-holiday question resulted;— Wednesday 1532, Saturday IJIO.
