CONFERENCE DESIRED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Wednesday.

A large meeting of Green Island miners was held at Fairfield to-night, when the men decided to take no further action till an open conference has been meld with the employers to discuss differences between the parties as to trucking, filling of one kind of coal at the. face of tho mine, and the wages of shift men. It is understood that a number of younger men who have been working in the mines are now seeking other employment.
