AUTUMN FASHION NOTES.

Riidlcss are the ideas embodied in modern dress. Yet to conform to public I'celiujr such notions must steer wide of extravugnnce or grotesqueness in ap pcaraneo. "The plainer the costume the better," says an authority, "so long as the lines are good.' . Especially does this hold good in the matter of genuine tailor-mades.

The following are descriptions of some of the costumes made at the present time:—

One, which is easy to make, shows off good tailoring to perfection, and is designed on fashionable lines. There 'is an over-shoulder-seam at front and back which infuses the panel effect cry little is taken out at side-seam. The fronts are slightly rounded and button three.
