ENTERTAINMENTS.

COSY THEATRE

"3tABIONETTES."

Clara Kimball Young has the star part in. the Select feature, "Marionettes. ,, It goes without saying, therefore, that the play is a first-class one, but this praieo is by no means enough for <% story of such rare charm aud originality. The scene is laid in France, where a little country girl with a fortune marries n man whom she has always Idolised. Unfortunately for her, he married her merely for her money, and he makes uo pretence* of having done otherwise. • The wife is heartbroken by his neglect, and seeks about for means to win him to her. A visit to a marionette entertainment suggests a way to her. She immediately sets out to act as the marionette-wife, had done, and achieves more success than ever she dreamed of. Many of the situations become quite piquant, and her behaviour not only awakens hubby ',8 love, but drives him. to a mad desperation of jealousy. The plot is skilfully worked out, and the whole play scintillates with alternate, wittiness and motion. Altogether the- play must undoubtedly bo of French origin, and it can be guaranteed to captivate all who see it. Some of the sub-titles are remarkably clover. The settings aro most ornate, and Clara wears some stunning dresses. A good two-reeler Sennett Keystone provides plenty of laughter, while excitement in plenty is given, in a, chapter of "A Lass of the Lumberlands." The series will be repeated this evening.
