Aristralran n" 'V 7 I'ahle *s« "•••» MELBOU RN E, Monday.
The Minister for Shipping states that tho Commonwealth Government had no intention of sitting down quietly aud allowing itself to be squoezed out by a big shipping ring. It considered that no .country in tho world was likely to suffer more than Australia through the action of tho shipping ring. An extonsion of the shipbuilding programme of the Federal Government, by the construction of four more steel vessels, would shortly receive Cabinet's consideration . The vessels would be ten thousand tons each, fitted with refrigerating space, and would have a speed of 12£ knots.
