UTTER CONFUSION

A. great anti-Entente demonstration favoured the establishment of a Soviet Republic, but the Austrian Central Workers' Council rejected the Hungarian overtures owing to Austria's dependence upon the Entente for food. Political circles fear the extension, of Hungarian Bolshevism to Poland and tho Balkans. M. Masaryk has resigned the Presidency of Czeeho-Slo-vakia. It is reported that Hungary's Bolshevik Government is gaining support, and is determined to resist Polish CzechoSlovakian and Roumanian encroachments. Communists disarmed '-47 of the Entente troops at Budapest. The Entente Mission has departed. The development in Hungary has caused a deep impression in Germany-? It is hoped that the arrival of food, which has begun, will maintain quiet. Tho Spartacists have, opened fresh agitation by strikes in Lubeek aud riots in Stettin.
