The heavy rain that fell on Saturday afternoon compelled the postponement of all fixtures set down for decision in Masterton.
Two rinks representing the Masterton Club journeyed through to Eketahuna to play a shield match. Although rain considerably affected the play, each team managed to complete about nineteen heads. The visitors scored 43 points, against 23 by the local team.
The scores were as follows (Mastertoflj being mentioned first): — Holmwood, Guild, R. Vile, Rose A)' 22; Lowes, Small, Herbert, Duff (ayll. Spackman, Thurston, McCalden, H» Perry (s) 21; Tumor, Hannah, Cow-* lam, Kerr (s) 13. i
As is usual with the Eketahuna bowlers, they treated the Masterton playera most hospitably.
