THE COSY THEATRE.
"SCANDAL."
Good crowds have "witnessed the screening of the present change at the Cosy. Constance Talmadge in"Seaiulal" gives a real good account of herself. The play gives a» excellent opportunity for good acting, and whatever mood she portrays is done perfectly. She is positively charming all through, and will endear herself to all hearts. The story is distinctly unconventional, and tells of the folly of a rather spoiled but innocent girl. To get herself out of one fix she pretends to have been secretly married, and thus gets into further trouble, especially when the man to whom she pretends to be married behaves ii> a manner which becomes at times rather startling, to say the least of it. It is a powerful picture of the predicaments in which a too-spirited girl who has been insufficiently warned of the dangers of life, can find herself. The situation, though daring, carries such a strong lesson that it becomes a very great drama, dealing with the facts of life. The settings are unusually gorgeous, and show society life in its most luxurious state. For rapid action and tense situation it stands alone. The story is from Cosmo Hamilton's well-known novel. The current chapter of the noted serial, "A Lass of the Lumberlands," with Helen Holmes, is chockful of excitement and interest. The remaining items are all good. There will be a grand matinee at 2.30 to-morrow afternoon.
