The Daily Mall states that after twoyears' persistent effort, a group of British textile workers , , headed by Messrs John Lcykmd and Kii-hard Baldry, with., the assistance of the .Foreign Office, has obtained in Switzerland 257 secret; recipes of the Dndisclie dyeworiks, comprising the Herman dye monopoly. Thousands were spent and great risks. were taken during long-drawn-out negotiations w'th a Swiss chemist, who w;&s in pobKession of the recipes. German agents everywhere dogged the party, stealing luggage, drugging , ,, assaulting, and making laboratory tests dangerous. • "When the recipes and samples were obtained, the Foreign Office forward* ■•" them to England with the utmosrt s<•- ,,- recy, and lodged them in a ban.3 strong-room. Used in ■ mamifacturing in Bradfor •>. and Manchester, they answer all test', producing a whole range of dyes hitherto exclusively German.
