FEDERAL WAR LOAN.

(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received Thursday, at 10.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Thursday.

Tho Hon. W. G. Higgs (Federal Treasurer) has announced that employers are not legally required to guarantee the payments of employees' instalments to the war loan.

Should an employee be unable to continue the payment the Government would refund the; paid instalments.

In appealing for subscriptions the Minister stated that Australia required £50,000,000 annually for war purposes.
