Mr W. Hood reports (for yesterday)—Bright sunshine, SOmins. Temperature: Alaximnm 61deg., minimum 47.-1----deg., mean 54.2deg., terres. 45deg. 14:n infill 1 ? 3.1 points.
Solway Rainfall.-—Mr J. C. Boddington reports as follows: —Rain fell on 19 days in May. The maximum fall during 24 hours Avas 1.40 inches, registered on the 30th, and tho minimum 1 point, on tho 7th. The total for the month vras 5.28 inches, as compared with 1.81 inches in 1915, 6.43 inches in 1914, 5.25 inches in 1905, 5.69 inches in 1906, 9.62: inches in 1907, and 8.52 inches in 1913. Tho total for the past five months was' 13.96 inches, as compared with 11.69* inches for the corresponding period in. .1915, and 19.06 inches in 1914, 29.33 inches in 1906, 29.77 inches in 1907, and .19.37 inches in 1913. On 'March 19th, 1907, 3.67 inches fell during 24 hours, and on February 26th, 1911, 3.54 inches fell during a similar period. Thetotal for July, 1912, was 13 inches.
Upper Opaki.—Mr H. J. Christensen. reports on the rainfall at Upper Opaki. during the month of May as folloAvs:— Rain fell on 12 days. The heaviest falL in 24 hours Avas 1.71 inches on the 29th~ The total for the month Avas 7.47 inches. The rainfall for tho correspondingmonth last year was 4.42 inches.
