NAPIER MARDI GRAS.

NAPIER, Monday. The third annual Mardi Gras was successfully held to-day, despite the rain. There were seventy-four exhibits in the procession, which was viewed by 20,000 people. Late in the afternoon sunny weiither prevailed, and McLean Park was visited by 15,000 people. The programme included sports, band concert, and the usual carnival attractions. The proceeds go to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund, but the amount is not yet available.
