GRAVITY OF THE SITUATION.
SYDNEY, Tuesday
Major-General McKay, in an address on the war conditions, said that Australians did not realise the gravity of the situation on the three war fronts. Tho position was less satisfactory to the Allies than when the war broke out. The war had not yet begun to be won by the Allies. On every side they were faced by greater difficulties than existed sixteen months ago. In appealing to every Australian to do his duty, he s-aid that every man was wanted at once. If all the physically fit single Aus.rnM.--.- 011 listed they would have enough.
