DIVISION
In rosponßO to tho requoat for assistance which was received by tho New Zealand authorities of tho St. John Ambulance Brigade, it is interesting to noto tho work dono by tho Masterton Nursing Division in connection with tho Avar to date. From calico and muslin donated by Messrs Watson and Co., C. Smith, Ltd., P. Hamill, A. Norman, Hugo and Shearer, Miss McKenzie, and Df A. Hosking, the following have boon mado and forwarded: —340 triangular bandages, 320 hospital sponges, 134 roller bandages. Cash collected was as follows: — By street collection (including £3 from Mrs J. Buchanan), £18 16s l_d; sale of lamb presented by Misses Bannister and sold by Turnbull and Co., £10 6 6d; C. E. Daniell, £3; F.E.M., £2; Mrs J. Perry, £1; R. Smith (Rototawai) 13s; Friend, per Mrs DEws, 10s; Miss McHattio, ss; Chas. T. Carr, ss; J. Hunter, 2s Gd. Of the abovo amount, £32 has boon forwardod to the assistant commissioner, Mr H. H. Seed, Wellington, and tho balance in goods, including gifts and trophy money from the members, as folloavs: —38 woven body belts, 30 pairs socks, pyjama suit, 2 nightingales, 1 hot awter bottlo, 4 pairs bedsocks. Theso' articles wore forwardod to St. John's Gate, London, per s.s. Somerset, on January 22nd last, for the Queen Mary Needlework Guild. Tho division has received and forwardod a parcel of old linen from Mrs Judd, roller bandages from Misses Robins, bedsocks from Mrs Robinson and Mrs Iveson. .
The members have received permission to take up a collction for tho wounded soldiers, at the Solway Show next week.
