DEATH OF LORD NORTHLAND.
WELLINGTON, Wednesday.
On behalf of New Zealand, His Excellency the. Governor sent a message of condolence to Lord Ranfurly on the death of his'son, Lord Northland, and has received the folloAving reply: "We thank the peoi.de of New Zealand for their kind telegram. We are. proud that our only son gave his life for his country. ''—'-(Signed) Ranfurly.''
