MELBOURNE, Wednesday.

Strong military action is pending in connection with drunkenness among the Melbourne troops.

Mr Pearce (Minister of Defence) stated that a number of men in uniform, Avhose conduct Avas a nuisance to the public, really had no right to Avear tho uniform, they having been dis-

charged from the. ranks. It was the intention of the authorities, if these men continued to unlawfully wear His Majesty's uniform, to them arrested and prosecuted.
