POLITICAL.
STATEMENT BY MR MASSEY.
PARLIAMENT WILL MEET AS
USUAL,
(By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Tuesday.
The Prime Minister arrived in Auckland last evening. Mr Massey said that, as a result of the Dunedin byelection, the Government now possessed n clear majority, and that unless any special business cropped up, requiring immediate attention, there Avould be no necessity to call Parliament together before dune.
"I am confident.."' added Mr Massey, "that Avhcn Parliament does meet, it will be found that this majority Avill be maintained. The result of the Dunedin by-election has saved the Dominion from the danger of a dissolution and the turmoil of another general election, which at the present time is certainly to be regarded as exceedingly undesirable." ,
