LITTLE SEEN OF BOASTED ALLIES OF TURKS.

(Received Tuesday, at 8.15 a.m.) CAIRO, Monday

Cairo, fortified by official data, takes the contrary view to those ■who consider that Djemel Pasha, with the majority of the advance guard, took the more difficult line of advance, in front of Hafir-elandja, via El Arish, thence from Libui to Ismailia and Toussoum. A comparatively small force marched from El Arish toward Kautara, while bodies of partisans, following the Akaba-Nakui road, made unimportant demonstrations at Suez and near Toa, and generally arrived in good condition. The officers spread the idea that the crossing of the canal was an easy matter. Lying articles from the newspaper '' Taniu,'» asserting that the British had committed atrocities, were distributed among the ranks of the advance guard belonging to the Army Corps under Djemal Pasha. Little has been seen of the boasted Bedouin allies of the Turks. It is reported that the huge levies either did not exist, or have since evaporated.

British airmen kept in touch with the- advancing Turks, and dropped

bombs
