WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.
At tho fortnightly sale of wool, skins, hides, tallow, etc., at Wellington ou Friday, there was a largo attendance of I.p.iyer.s. ('ompetitioii was extremely keen for all clauses of produce, and prices showed an advance on the ruling rates at last sale of :]d to Jd per lb for sheepskins and j<l per lb for hides. Tallow also shoAved an advance of Is to Is Gd per cwt. The following is the range of prices current at the sale: — Sheepskins.— Halfbred, 1071 per lb; fine crossbred, 9Jd to 10.} d; medium to coarso crossbred, 9id to lOd; short to half wools, Hid to Sd; dead and damaged crossbred, Ciid to inferior and badly damaged, 4d to T.Jd; lambs, to 9](1; damp, salted and green, .'ss Sd to 6s each; pelts, Is 6d to 3s; lambs, salted, 4s sd. Hides.—Ox, heavy, GOlb up, 9Jd to 10 l-8d lb; ox, medium, 50 to 591b, 9M to lOd; ox, light, 49 and under, 9*d to lOd; cow, heavy, 551b up, 9 7-Sd; cow, medium. 42 to 54, 9:,' dto lOd; cow, light, under 4-2, SjUl to lOd; cut, slippy and inferior, 5.', dto S 7-Sd; bull, stag, 41 d to S}d; vearlincs (16 to 241b). 9d to lOd; calf, superior, 161b, 12d to 12Jd; calf, medium to good, lOd to 11-Jd; calf, damaged, 4d to 9.Jd.
Tallow. —In casks 19s to 25b per cwt; in tins, etc., 10s to 2.1s 3d. Sundries. —Horse hair 2s Id per lb; cow tails, Is 8d per dozen. .
