BARQUE ASHORE.

(By Telegraph—Pre*-. Association.) THAMES, Friday.

The. Italian ship Eurasia, of 1742 tons, Captain Alivaria, bound for Auckland, and Monte Video, went ashore on the mud dat opposite Thames, westward of the Piako river, at ten o'clock last night.

The-cause of the mishap was the compass being out of order. No danger or loss is likely, as the ship is on soft mud.

She may be detained for some days. Tug assistance is being sought.

The vessel left Auckland yesterday morning.
