WILD RUMOUR DENIED.

MELBOURNE, Saturday.
Mr Pearce (Minister for Defence), in denying any knowledge of the wild rumour concerning the deatli of a New Zealand trooper in Egypt, stated that all the deaths in the Australasian forces were immediately cabled to the headquarters. The authorities had received no information of any such incident as the one referred to, which would certainly have been sent.
