FANNING ISLAND CABLE.
(Received Thursday, 10.15 a.m.) BRISBANE, Thursday. Mr Milward, manager of the Pacific Cable Company, has returned from Fanning Island. He states that the damage done to the cable and property of the company by the Germans amounted to several thousand pounds. Everything has now been restored.
