WEDDING.
BAIRD—PILMER.
At St. Matthew's Church this afterMoon, a wedding, in which considerable local interest was taken, was solemnised, the contracting parties being Aliss Doris Pilmer, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. G. Pilmer, of South Road, Masterton, and Mr : Stuart Macdonald Baird, son of Mrs Baird, of Solway, Masterton. The church was crowded (■with relatives and friends, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. 11. Watson, vicar of St. Matthew's. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a beautiful dress of ivory satin, the tuuic being of shadow lace and marquisette, and the bodice veiled with the palest of pink, shadow lace and marquisette. The train of the bridal dress Avas of ivory satin, lined with the palest pink, caught below the shoulders with ivory satin bow. She wore the orthpdox veil and orange blossoms, and a beautiful gold and aquamarine necklace, the gift of the bridegroom. She carried a pretty bouquet of white roses and maiden hair fern. The bridesmaids were Aliss May Pilmer (sister of the bride), Aliss Molly Mace (cpusin of the bridegroom), and Miss Zona Vallauce. The bridesmaids were dressed in pale pink satin, with tunics of shadow lace, veiled with the palest pink ninou and trimmed with white swansdown. The bodices were of shadow lace, also veiled with the palest pink ninon and white swansdown trimming. Their hats were of black velvet with white swansdown aud pink roses. They carried shower bouquets of pink roses and maiden hair fern. The bridesmaids wore pearl ear-rings, the gift of the bridegroom. Air Burn Vallance was best man. Mrs Pilmer, the bride's "mother, was 'dressed in wedgwood blue brocaded _repe-de-chine, and wore a black hat trimmed with a red rose and ostrich plume. She carried a bouquet of violet lavender and maiden hair fern. Mrs Baird, mother of the bridegroom, wore at black crepe-de-chine frock, and "black hat, and carried a bouquet of >-iolet, lavender and maiden hair fern. After the ceremony a large number of guests attended the reception at Mr and" Mrs Pilmer's residence, South road, at which the usual toasts were honoured and felicitous speeches made, the heartiest congratulations being extended to the newly-married couple, and best wishes for their future prosperity and happiness. Air and Airs Baird received a large number of valuable and useful presents. Subsequently Air and Airs Baird left by motor ear for the north on their honeymoon trip.
