The death occurred at Lansdownc on Saturday afternoon on Wainohu Te a well-known Maori. The dewho was 64 years of age, was the son of Hori te Huki, of Masterton. and was born near the Taueru. He leaves a widow and four children (two sons and two daughters) to mourn their loss, as well as a father and mother. A , tangi is being held at Te Ore Ore. The death occurred last night of Mrs Mary Bradford, a well-known resident of Masterton. Mrs Bradford, who was born in London, came to New Zealand about fifty years ago, and had speut •over forty years in Masterton. She has a twin sister living (Mrs W. Keeble), and another sister, Mrs Carr (Wellington), and a brother in Wellington, Mr Burn. One son (Mr Alf. Bradford, of Masterton), and an adoptTd daughter (Mrs Watt, Thames), are left to their loss. The funeral will leave the residence, Cole street, cm ■Wednesday, at 2.30 p.m. There was a very large attendance at of the late Mr Walter Bai!took place at the Clareville •cemetery yesterday, the cortege being over a mile long, and the biggest seeu in Cartertou for some time. The pallbearers were the Mayor of Carterton (Mr M. D. Hornsby), Councillor G. Hughan, and two representatives each from the Masonic and Druids Lodges. A large number of Masterton residents .■were present to pay their last respects -to one who was held in such high esteem.
