CARTERTON STOCK SALE. Messrs W. and G. Turnbull and Co., report having held their weekly sale in their Carterton saleyards yesterday, when they offered a very good yarding of sheep and cattle, pigs and horses, well above advertised numbers. There was a large attendnace of buyers, and competition being very keen throughout, there was practically a clearance. Amongst our cattle entry wo sold, on account of Mr E. Eagle, 21 2yr old springing heifers, which brough £4 lis, £5 3s to £6 Is; also on account of W. Howard Booth, 2 fat cows, which brought £10 9s. Other prices were as follows* —Fat ewes 15s Id, forward ewes 13s 3d to 1-Js, store ewes lis lOd to 12s 4d, f.m. ewes in lamb to Romney rams 15s Gd, b.f. lambs 9s 7d to 12s, woolly lambs lis 2d, shorn lambs 9s Id, 10s 6d to lis 4d. Pigs: Weaners 9s 3d. Fat cows, £6 ss, £7 to £10 9s; fat heifers £4 17s; springing heifers £4 lis, £5 3s, £6 Is to £7 10s; forward store cows £4 15s, £5 2s, £5 ss, £5 6s, to £5 lis; store cows £2 9s, £2 18s 6d, £3, £3 10s, to £4 Is. Dairy cows £2 10s, £3 10s to £7 15s; 2yr steers £5 9s; weaner heifers, good, £2 7s 6d; mixed weaners 24s Gd, bull calves 31s, steer calves 265, bulls £6 16s.
