GAS EXPLOSION.
A COLLIERY DISASTER. ELEVEN MINERS KILLED. Press Association—Electric Teleeraph—Copyright (Received Monday, at .10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sunday. In a gas explosion at the Silk&tone Colliery, Wharnclifte, eleven miners wore killed. Tho rescuers, after three hours' dangerous work, brought the injured men to the surface, but most of them succumbed. The news caused the breaking up of cricket and other sports, aud a wild stampede to the pithead.
