SPECIAL PRAYERS IN MASTERTON CHURCHES.

Special prayers wore offered in tho various churches in Masterton and by the Salvation Army yesterday in connection with the Empress of Ireland disaster. At the close of the service at Kn-jx Church last night, a resolution of sympathy with the Salvation Army in the loss sustained by them through tho death of so many of their officers in the Empress of Ireland disaster, was carried unanimously, the congregation standing.
