PIPE BAND BAZAAR.
TO BE OPENED TO-NIGHT. THE STALL-HOLDERS. The bazaar and carnival which is to be held by the Wairarapa Caledonian Pipe Band in the Town and Drill Halls, will be officially opened to-night at 7.30 o'clock, by His Worship the Mayor of Masterton (Mr J. M. Coradine). Completo arrangements havo been made for the function, which will bo the biggest of its kind ever attempted in Wairarapa. From its inception, tho bazaar has received tho cordial support of all classes of tho community, tho'business men in particular lending valuable assistance. With a view to making the musical portion of the bazaar as attractive as possible, tho directors of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society decided to engage Professor Cardston, who has had a varied experience in Australia and New Zealand, to arrange the programme. Success was achieved by Professor Cardston in similar functions in the West Coast of the South Island, Wanganui, Taranaki and other places, and also in connection with tho big band bazaar, held last year by the Kaikorai Band. Tho directors gave Professor Cardston a free hand in carrying out the entertainment portion oi' the bazaar, and he set to work with commendable enthusiasm, and tho result of his efforts will bo seen to-night in the excellent programme which tho Arcadian Revellers will place before the audience. The programme to be produced each evening will be shown by indicator on tho stage. Owing to the impossibility of giving every" item each evening, patrons may, on request, have any item they desire produced. The programme includes beautiful spectacular effects, and magnificent set pieces, and the two hundred and fifty performers, the " A. I - cadian Revellers," will be well worth
seeing. The stalls in connection with the bazaar have been neatly arranged in the Drill Hall. For months past willing committees, under the guidance of the Mayoress (Mrs Coradine), have been working energetically, securing a plentiful supply of goods for their respective stalls,* and the result of their labours will be seen to-night in the heavily laden stalls.
