Pemberton, assistant meteorologist. Mr C A. Wall, Mrs Wall, and Mss Wall, of Mount Bruce, accompanied by Mr L. Matthews, left Masterton for Auckland and Rotorua this morning. They will drive as far as Huntervillo by motor car, and there will pick up the i' Auckland express. Dr. Alexander Graham, of Waikoudied suddenly at his residence at W4 o'clock yesterday morning, says a Dunedin wire. It appears that he rose during the night to take some mixture of cromide, and must have swallowed an overdose. Dr. Graham was aged 42 years, and was married. 7 Mr J. Henry Lang, who will arrive in Masterton on Wednesday, and address a meeting m the Methodist Church, is an officer in the Hyderabad Infantry Battalion, and carried off first prize in the military sports. He has broken University running records m New Zealand, and is a splendid type of athletic Christianity. 4 At Knox Church, Masterton, this 1 morning, a quiet wedding was solemnised, the contracting parties being Mr James McDonald, of Epirama station, Masterton, and Miss Elsie C. Frazer, of New Plymouth. Miss Frazer, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and Mr I. Jones, of Epirama, best man. The ceremony aws performed by the Rev. A. T. Thompson, 8.A., B.D. • \ quiet wedding was solemnised at Dannevirke on Wednesday. Tho con--tracting parties were Miss Arabella __ Smith, ""youngest daughter of the late m William" Gilmour Smith, of Westland. and Mr Alexander Urquhart. Both are ■well-known and highly-respected residents of Horoeka (Pongaroa district), the former having occupied the position of schoolmistress there for a lengthy period with credit to herself and 6 echool, while Mr Urquhart is a widelyf known settler and a Justice of the Peace.
