NORTH v. SOUTH MATCH
A match between North and South Wairarapa players was held on Friday evening, at Carterton, ami resulted in a win for the Southerners by live games to three, as under:— South. North. Council 1 *To be adjudicated upon. Mr .1. A. Council captained the Southern men, and Mr Jones the Northern. At the conclusion of play, Mr Council expressed the pleasure of the Southern men at the visit of the Northerners, and hoped there would be many more enjoyable meetings between them. Ho regretted the absence of Messrs Kummer from the*"' Coast, who were strong players and fine opponents. Mr Jones, the captain, and Mr Thompson, president of the Masterton Club, each acknowledged the hospitality and friendly sentiments of the Southern players, whom they hoped to meet in Masterton with more fortunate results to the Northern side.
