BRUTAL TROOPERS.
HOUNDING RECRUITS.

Public indignation forced the retrial of two troopers of cuirassiers at Potsdam, who had been sentenced to six and three weeks' imprisonment respectively for,'breaking into the recruits' dormitory. The recruits were hounded out of their beds at tho points of swords The troopers forced one to kneel naked on the table and another to climb on a cupboard and sing a hymn. Six recruits wore sent to the hospital with sword wounds, one having been slashed across the chest. The troopers were courtmartialled ,and received a fifty per cent, increase of sentences.
