GB.KAT ANIMAL DRAMA,

"hi tho Midst of the .'Jungle," the Selig Company's latest masterpiece, and without question the greatest animal drama ever produced, will be. shown to-night for- the first time at the T.P. Electric Picture Palace. This film presents all the fascination of a. wonderful sporting picture. Miss Kathlyn Williams, tho Selig Company's famous leading lady, lias a, part which one is tempted to think no other actress would have the nerve to perform. .She is world-renowned as the "Girl without fear," and will positively 'make her audience gasp Tor her safety. We see the. wild, tangled jungle, the animals leaping out with niiniistakeable ferocity and deadlines* of purpose. We get marvellously vivid glimpses of life in the jungle, wherein lurk (he fiercest savage animals. A striking incident is thai, of the actual shooting of a. full-grown lioness, which falls mortally wounded from a high cliff into a river. The film clearly depicts in their native haunts lions, tigers, leopards, elephants, hyenas, monkeys, iiud other animals of the great African forest, while the story portrays the adventures of a girl-member of a big game-hunting expedition, who was .lost in the perilous wilderness for three years. Assisting this star, lies present's ''The Little. Major, , ' si. story of an appealing characier, while Nestor is seen in ''On Cupid's Highway,'' a society drama of modern dressing. "Mine and Marathon" (laibin) shown this popular company to advantage. Many laughs may be expected from the comedy section, Keyston taking first place'with "A Misplaced Foot," while a Western hurricane is "Adventurous Girls" (Majestic). The troubles of a. side-car are funnily explained by ''Sammy and Dupin. , ' A j/'orious scenic is "Bavarian l/amhcapes," while an industrial of interest is '' Wine Making. , '

MAUD ALLAN AND THE CIIERNIAVSKYS.

THK ARTISTIC KVIONT OF TIIIO HKAHOiN. The .Maud Allan, Cheruiavsky recitals which take place to-morrow, at the Town Hall, are. causing tremendous interest. The crowds they will draw should be record ones, as it may be a long time before such a powerful combination will be seen here again. Those who have not already booked seats should do so at once at the Dresden, as a large demand has already taken place. Miss Maud Allan is undoubtedly the best known classical dancer in the world to-day, and Leo, Jan and Misehe! Cherninvsky are recognised on the five continents as the best instrumental trio of the present day. It may be interesting to note that Leo's violin is a genuine Bergon/.i of great value, and was presented to him as a token of esteem and admiration by the Princess Outtmann of Russia. Leo Li the most brilliant pupil Yasye ever had. In common with I'aderewski and Ilambourg, Jan is a pupil of Leschetitasky. Mischel studied under the famous Topper; his 'cello is a magnificent "Ainati" which also in value is enhanced by its giver being Baron Polokow.
