HASTWELL.
A heavy iuul prolonged earthquake shock occurred at 12.1/) on Tuesday , morning. Mr and Mrs Halberg, who have been to Auckland and Kotorua for a holiday, returned homo last week. j Mr 8. B. Larson our local creamery ' manager, is leaving in a few days* to take up his new duties as manager of the Ohau creamery. The members of the TTastwell Cricket Club journeyed to Eketahuna on Saturday last, and were defeated by 17 runs. The following are the scores:— Eketahuiia. — Tripe 28, Hazel (>, Goss 10, Kalpli 2, ,Jaspers 0, Grey l>, Cettidini Ifi, Isles 4, Uaikos 0, Green 0, A. ITanseu 1. Extras 15, total 87. Petersen (I, extras 8, total, 70. .Both teams adjourned to the Liverpool House after the match, where a splendid dinner had been provided by Most Bronkhorst. (Several toasts were enthusiastically drunk and suitably replied to. Several musical items were rendered, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. A return match will probably take place shortly.
