Mr David Nathan, of Wellington, in an interview referring to the recent strike, said the whole business Avas a piece of political engineering for party purposes, staged managed with a sort of Machiavelian finesse. The Massey Government was making the same mistake as Napoleon. Jt was obtaining control of the press, only two metropolitan newspapers and a Tew smaller towns remaining definite Opposition. Generally speaking the great mass of the workers were opposed to the Massey Government.
