CLEARING SALE.
Messrs W. and G. Turubull and Co. Ltd., report having held a, very successful clearing sale last Thursday, when they offered on account of Robert Buick, Esq. (who has sold his Tcnui property) the whole of his sheep, cattle, horses, and sundries. There was an exceptionally big attendance of buyers present. The Lower Valley, Forty-Mile Bush, Dannevirke, and Mastertou districts were- well represented, consequently competition was very keen throughout, and the general opinion wa.s that it was one of the best sales held in the Wairarnpa for a good number of years. The following prices were realised: —447 2-tooth ewes, 17s; 57(> 2 and 4-tooth wethers, ISh; 5.10 i. and (J-tooth ewes, His (id; 290 4 and syr ewes, 13s 7d; 32$ 4 and. f>yr owes, 15s JOd; 195 2-tooth ewes. His; 182 f.m. ewes, ILsiM; 05!> woolly lambs, lls (id; J OO 2-tooth wethers and ewes, 4s 4d; .101 4, G and f.m. ewes, .1.2s Id; 16S cull lambs, Ss Id; 5(5 cows and calves, £7 14s; 57 I! and 4yr bullocks, £S .10s; 40 :iyr heifers, £5.45; 44 IS and 20-mouths .steers, .£5 10s; ;>7 IS-months heifers, £4 !»s; 5 store cows, £'A 4s; dairy cows, £7 2s b'd and £7 ss; Shorthorn bull. £7 JOs; heifer calf, £.'! 7s. Sundries, etc., Drought clearing sale rates, which wr-iv satisfactory.
