WANGANUI, Sunday,

The Wanganui carnival, which closed Inst night, proved an astonishing sueress. The election of the Queen of the Carnival realised about £1200, while the afternoon and evening fetes yesterday brought the tola! to over' £2000. The exact figures are not yet available. The weather was gloriously fine yesterday, and the carnival was most enjoyable in every way.
