At the House of Lords' inquiry /into Lord Murray's transactions in Marconi shares, charges AA*ere formulated containing hcav matter. It was stated that accused attempted to get- the con(tact rectified in the House of Common. Avihout a real discussion in. order to prevent the dealings in shares being disclosed.

Mr Shearman,counsel for Lord Murray, complained that the charge was iv comprehensible and inadmissible.

Lord llalsbury stated that the Committee Avould investigate only a charge Avhero Lord Murray was personally concerned.

Mr Up;john, on behalf of the Morning Tost, contended that Lord Murray took advantage of information received from Mr Godfrey Isaacs and translated it into its cash equivalent.
