CLEARING SALE AT ALPASS ESTATE.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report, having conducted a most successful clearing sale of the Alpass estate stock on Monday, 19th inst. The attendance was exceptionally large, Wairarapa being strongly represented, especially the southern portion, and the whole of the Forty-Mile Bush districts, including Pongaroa and Akitio, as well as the Mauawatu province. The stock was of good quality throughout, and every credit is due to Mr William Boustead, the manager of the property, for the excellent arrangements made. Tho sheep were well drafted as to age and sex, and in each instance any "tail" taken out, and buyers were especially complimentary in their remarks generally as to the manner in which the stock was placed before them. Business at auction was animated, and the prices can only be considered as highly satisfactory.
