TROUBLE OVER AUSTRALIAN TEAM.

Press • R|,- T..!ri;rafih —Copyright (Received Wednesday, at 9.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, Tuesday. It is announced that as the players concerned evidently were unaware of the fact that the Now Zealand Council had omitted to obtain the Board of Control's approval of the proposed tour when they accepted the invitation, and whilst adverse to the encouragement of such tours, the Board has arrived at the conclusion that it would not, at this stage, be reasonable to request the players concerned to decline the invitation. The Board strongly recents the action of tho New Zealand Council, and will, when that body replies fully to its communication, take steps to ensure future recognition of the authority. The Board declines to deal with Mr Simms at all.
