A fight which arose between Senator .Johnston, of Kentucky, and Attorney Shields, broke up a meeting of the House Committee which was dealing with Columbian matters. The quarrel arose over a trifling question. The men struck each other several blows. Other committeemen then separated them, Johnston shouting at the top of his voice, "Get me a pistol, and I'll kill him."
