In their second innings Carlton P> had, ou the previous Saturday, lost five wickets for 229. On resuming, the score was carried to 28! before tho last wicket fell. F. Welch 13, K. Welch 15, and Mowlem 10 reached double figures. In their second attempt the A's were more successful than in the first, but could make only 115 of the 397 required to win. The B's thus won by 252 runs. Phillips made 50 in fine style and gave a glimpse of his form of two seasons ago. L Welch, a son of the veteran '•Fred,'' and a very promising colt, batted nicely for 20, and W. Hoar knocked up :;i» in quick time. He hit four 4 "s and one 0.
